Our Story

Built to respond to practical needs in community health and programme implementation

Founded by Dr Hillary Mukudu, Mawonga Health Institute NPO was established to respond to the growing need for practical, community-based, and evidence-informed health services. The organisation supports programmes that address unequal access to healthcare, HIV risk, chronic illness, maternal and family health needs, and the need for stronger monitoring systems within NGOs and community programmes.

The underlying idea is simple: better community health depends on more than treatment alone. It requires prevention, education, continuity of care, community trust, strong data systems, and organisations that can learn from what they are doing.
